Amid ongoing humanitarian challenges, Ghadaq for Development, with funding from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), is implementing the “Emergency Livelihood Assistance” project in response to the urgent needs of families affected by conflict and floods in Hays and Al-Khokha districts of Al-Hodeidah governorate.
The project aims to improve food security and strengthen resilience through practical interventions targeting the most vulnerable households:
- In Hays District: 307 households will benefit from a three-month Cash-for-Work program, providing temporary income while rehabilitating vital community assets.
- In Al-Khokha District: 227 households will receive emergency livestock packages under the Cash Plus program across three monthly rounds. This support is complemented by specialized training in livestock management and agriculture to boost income and ensure long-term sustainability.
In total, the project will reach 534 households (3,738 individuals), including 81 female-headed households, with a special focus on women, children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. The project also emphasizes protection, accountability, and safeguarding against exploitation and abuse, through dedicated mechanisms and active community committees that take part in beneficiary selection and activity management.
Through this intervention, Ghadaq for Development reaffirms its commitment to working alongside local communities, authorities, and humanitarian partners to deliver an integrated response that strengthens families’ capacity to cope with crises and build a more stable future.
